Tromsø – Gateway to the arctic

At a latitude of nearly 70 degrees North, four days’ sailing from Bergen and barely a two-hour flight from Oslo, at the same latitude as Alaska and Siberia, between the island landscape, fiords and mountain peaks, you find Tromsø – Gateway to the Arctic and capital of Northern Norway. Tromsø entices it’s visitors with the Northern Lights, Polar Nights, Midnight Sun, with it’s exciting attractions, good possibilities for excursions and widely varying weather. A colourful city centre of historic wooden houses, lively cafés, arctic cuisine, museums and galleries await you in Tromsø. To the west, you find 600 islands, fishing villages, bird cliffs and good fishing, whereas blue fjords, forest and farmland are protected by the towering Lyngen Alps to the east.

Røros – one of Norway’s world heritage contributions

The old mining village of Røros is a historical and architectural showpiece. The village of Røros is on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List of Cultural Treasures. Røros makes an outstanding incentive destination, not only because of its attractiveness, but it is also one of the places within easy access, as a 30 minutes regular flight service north of Oslo will take us there.  One of the few places where we can generally guarantee snow from the end of November. An excellent winter destination where activities, such as dog sledging, snow scooters and a selection of cultural activities are experienced.
