The sea and the limestone are always close by, even on a short walk from the hotel to the conference venue. Gotland is well equipped hosting big meetings. Every year the island hosts “the politicians week” and Gotland Grand National, the latter being the world’s biggest motorcycle competition and the islands Medieval Week has become widely renowned. The congress centre welcomes up to 1000 delegates and in addition there are many venues that host meetings for up to 300 delegates.
On Gotland everything is close and even closer in Visby, the capital of the island. Visby airport is only ten minutes from the city centre and the ferry terminal is within walking distance. The flight from Stockholm to Visby takes 35 minutes and the ferry-ride three hours.
Visby is one of the most restaurant-intensive cities in Sweden and some of the country’s very best restaurants can be found on Gotland. When looking for that different touch to your gala dinner why not host a concert in a fabulous church ruin.
