Welcome to Stockholm
This
stunning northern capital city is often referred to as the "Venice
of the North". Stockholm is situated on 14 islands and laced
by water so clean you can swim and fish in the heart of the city.
It is a city steeped in tradition and history, with its charming
narrow passageways, cobbled streets and splendid palaces. With an
inner city population of approximately 850.000 inhabitants, it retains
a small town, yet sophisticated atmosphere.
One of Stockholm's greatest
assets is the immediate proximity of the archipelago. The archipelago
is made up of 24.000 islands and the possibilities are endless.
What all the islands have in common is a beautiful landscape and
a numerous species of fauna. Many of the islands can be reached
by boats departing from the centre of Stockholm.
